The mixtape was relatively well received with 2,000 copies sold and an estimate of 60,000 illegal downloads. Krept and konan have a mixed genre of music from hip hop to rap. They started producing mixtapes which were totally free and involved well known other grime artists When they made their own version ortis which was originally made my jay z and kanye west they suprised youtube gaining over 4 millions views. This is the point where their fan base really seemed to develop. This is before they were signed and were self publishing DIY artists. Once they got recognized they also brought a synergy into the context as they started selling their own clothing called "play dirty" which to some extent is quite popular now after being more recognized they started doing mixtapes with known artist such as wretch and chipmunk they finnally got signed by emi records. They also broke a world record for Highest charting UK album by an unsigned act. The pair earned the title " Young Kingz" which entered into the top 20 in the UK album charts . Being in the top 20 and not being signed to any labels is a great acheivement . Now that they do have a label they their fan base should start growing even more and nt to forget they won a mobo award..
